MeisterSinger announced the Alain Silberstein Kaenos Editions, two special versions, each limited to 225 pieces, with prices starting at €4,100
Last week, we presented the new Kaenos Collection from MeisterSinger, introducing two lines, both available in four dial variations: the Kaenos, featuring a large date at 6 o’clock, and the Kaenos Open Date, which has an open date disk displaying the date below the 12 o’clock position.
Alongside the core collection, the German watchmaker also unveiled the MeisterSinger x Alain Silberstein Kaenos Editions, two special versions—each limited to 225 pieces—created in collaboration with Alain Silberstein.
The works of the renowned French watch designer are immediately recognisable for his unmistakable style, characterised by bold colours, geometric shapes, and playful elements that set him apart from traditional designs commonly seen in the industry.
His design language aligns perfectly with MeisterSinger's distinctive aesthetic and minimalist approach.
MeisterSinger and company founder Manfred Brassler have long been synonymous with distinctive single-hand watches. Reduced to the essentials, a MeisterSinger watch demonstrates the power of simplicity. It displays the time with just one single hour hand. And, like the first mechanical clocks of the late Middle Ages (read more on this subject in our article "Single-hand timepieces in watchmaking history"), it encourages a more relaxed way to consider the passing of time.

Brassler explains: “It is a real pleasure to meet such a creative spirit, with whom discussions naturally revolve around design and watch technology. We both share the fascination of creating something unique and timeless. As much as our design languages differ, we both love coherent concepts and compelling designs. Even more exciting was the question of how Alain would interpret the brand-new MeisterSinger Kaenos, a steel watch with an integrated metal strap."
Silberstein adds: “For me, designing a watch begins with a story that is looking to be told on the dial. The combination of the characteristic MeisterSinger design language and my creative elements came naturally to me. I drew my inspiration from the new Kaenos case, which, with its powerful design, provided a framework for this very story.”
Both the MeisterSinger x Alain Silberstein Edition Kaenos Grand Date and the MeisterSinger x Alain Silberstein Edition Kaenos Open Date are presented in a completely redesigned 40 mm × 11.2 mm case with an integrated stainless steel bracelet.
The dynamic lines of the Kaenos are highlighted by alternating polished and brushed surfaces. Water resistance of up to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet) enhances the watch’s versatility in various situations.
The jet-black dials provide the perfect background for highlighting design details. The needle-shaped single hand takes the spotlight in a typical Silberstein red, becoming a key design element. Departing from MeisterSinger's usual approach, Silberstein has introduced a delicate golden second hand.
Golden accents appear throughout the design, from the applied hour markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock to subtle details that enhance the dial’s visual depth. Silberstein replaces the quarter-hour markers in the fine 5-minute scale with delicate dots, while the MeisterSinger logo stands out in a silver-toned, three-dimensional finish.
A golden, recessed inner circle on the Grand Date and the framed, rectangular date window at 6 o’clock are standout details.
In the Open Date version, the date ring is fully exposed, giving the dial both structure and depth. The current date can be read below the 12 o’clock position.
The Kaenos Grand Date is powered by the Sellita SW400 Swiss automatic movement, while the Kaenos Open Date is driven by the Swiss-made Sellita SW200.
Both movements operate at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offer a 38-hour power reserve.
The rotor, visible through the glass exhibition caseback, has been designed to match the coloured elements of the dial in black and gold.
Delivered in specially designed packaging, along with an edition booklet personally signed by Silberstein and Brassler, the MeisterSinger x Alain Silberstein Edition Kaenos Grand Date (ref. ED-KSGD-AS2025) and Edition Kaenos Open Date (ref. ED-KSOD-AS2025) have suggested retail prices of €4,100 and €4,400, respectively. meistersinger.com
