Frederique Constant collaborated with Watch Angels, a watch collectors’ community and habillage producer, to create the new Worldtimer Manufacture 40 mm.

Produced in a limited edition of 718 pieces, the Watch Angels + Frederique Constant Worldtimer Manufacture is a design and dimensional evolution of the acclaimed 42 mm Classic Worldtimer Manufacture model that we reviewed here.

This new version introduces a smaller 40.5 mm x 13.40 mm case in stainless steel featuring a streamlined design, highlighted by a horizontally brushed case profile and a polished bezel. 

The crown is embellished with the Frederique Constant coat-of-arms. Water resistance is ensured up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet). 

Protected by an anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal, the blue dial stands out for its central sunburst finishing encircled by the circular graining of the minute track.

The rhodium hour, minute and second hands, along with the applied indexes, are hand-polished.

The day and night segments on the 24-hour disk are divided by two hemispheres: a polished sun for daytime and a polished-sandblasted crescent moon for night-time, adding visual appeal to the ensemble.

By inclining the matte blue city disc and removing the date, the redesigned three-piece dial optimises readability of the 24 time zones. 

On the caseback, the FC-718 in-house calibre and its openworked oscillating weight can be admired through the transparent sapphire crystal. 

Decorated with perlage, Côtes de Genève patterns, and blued screws, this self-winding movement operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and provides a 38-hour power reserve.

The engraving of the Frederique Constant coat-of-arms symbolises the brand’s values and expertise and is especially reserved for Manufacture pieces.

Paired with a black calf leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a stainless steel folding buckle, the Watch Angels + Frederique Constant Worldtimer Manufacture 40 mm, ref. FCWA.718.SS.2.1.1, has a recommended retail price of CHF 4,490.
