Maurice Lacroix unveils Aikon Ceramic models in matt black and polished white

Maurice Lacroix expands its Aikon collection with the Aikon Automatic Ceramic, presented in two colour versions, matt black and polished white, and two sizes, 42 mm and 39 mm.

Crafted entirely from ceramic, these models are the result of three years of research and development aimed at producing timepieces in high-performance 'technical ceramic' at an exceptional quality-to-price ratio.

While conventional ceramic cases are known for their corrosion resistance and hypoallergenic properties, this technical ceramic goes further, offering superior durability, thermal stability, and strength. 

This advanced material is created by "doping" zirconium oxide with hafnium oxide, yttrium oxide, and aluminium oxide, a process meticulously controlled to ensure optimal results.

As is tradition for Maurice Lacroix, cases and bracelets are meticulously finished. 

The bezel of the Aikon, with its distinctive arms in relief and with a contrasting finish, was particularly challenging to craft. Similarly, manufacturing a bracelet in technical ceramic also proved demanding. Each bracelet link has been designed to smoothly articulate around the wrist, for optimal comfort.

The 42 mm x 11 mm black version features a matt sandblasted finish, giving it a stealthy aesthetic.

Its matt black clous-de-Paris dial, adorned with a matt black M-logo and a date window at 3 o’clock, is complemented by matt black indexes and hour and minute hands. These are enhanced with white Super-LumiNova, which glows green in low-light conditions.

In contrast, the 39 mm x 11 mm white version is characterised by a polished, glossy finish. The rhodium indexes and hands stand out against the white lacquered "clous-de-Paris" dial.

Both models are powered by the self-winding ML115 calibre, developed in collaboration with Sellita, a leading Swiss movement manufacturer. 

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), the movement offers a 38-hour power reserve and is visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.

The five-row ceramic bracelet is equipped with a double folding clasp with double safety push-buttons. 

Maurice Lacroix’s proprietary EasyChange system allows wearers to quickly swap the bracelet for a leather or rubber strap, without the need for tools.
