Hublot and tennis legend Novak Djokovic collaborated on the development of the new Big Bang Unico Novak Djokovic, a timepiece designed with three priorities in mind: robustness, lightness and sustainability.

To achieve maximum lightness without compromising strength, Hublot developed a composite material incorporating 25 HEAD racquets and 32 Lacoste polo shirts (17 dark blue and 15 light blue) worn by Djokovic during his 2023 season. This was the year Djokovic made history by securing a record-breaking 24 Grand Slam singles titles.

The composite that makes up the case and bezel of the watch is made of Epoxy resin reinforced with quartz powder and glass veil that has been fused with the recycled racquets and shirts. The resulting material features specks of light and dark blue textiles and black carbon

The Swiss luxury watchmaker has also replaced traditional sapphire crystal with tempered Gorilla glass, a material used in high-end electronics and twice as light as sapphire.

Measuring 42 mm x 14.50 mm, the watch is water resistant to 10 ATM (100 metres / 330 feet).

The watch is powered by the Unico manufacture chronograph movement, but instead of standard brass, Hublot opted for lightweight aluminium, anodised in light blue or grey to complement the case's camo colour scheme. This choice reduced the movement's weight by 27%, nearly a third of its original mass. 

Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the movement features an openworked rotor adorned with the Novak Djokovic logo and offers a power reserve of 72 hours.

Aluminum has also been used for some case components such as side pieces (3H-9H), sub-bezel, bezel lugs, pushers, crown and case-back. The yellow pusher and curved bezel screws are clear nods to a tennis ball.

The openworked dial highlights the gears, the chronograph column wheel at 6 o'clock, and the date disc. The chronograph's 60-minute counter at 3 o'clock is balanced by a skeletonised running seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock.

The watch comes with four strap options. The first is a “Lacoste” tennis wristband, easily attached to the case sing the One Click System. 

The second is a lightweight blue elastic strap, with the entire combination weighing just 49.5 grams, lighter than a tennis ball. The third option is a light blue Velcro strap paired with a polished blue aluminium sports buckle. Finally, a classic white rubber strap with a titanium deployant buckle completes the set.

Limited to 100 pieces, this special edition is delivered in a sustainably sourced, high quality wooden watch box crafted from oak.

Additionally, owners of the watch will receive a Lacoste sport wristband and a Lacoste polo signed by Novak Djokovic.
