A precious Malachite dial for the Frederique Constant Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture

One of the most appreciated models from Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant, the Classic Manufacture, has been presented in a sophisticated edition, limited to 36 pieces, featuring a precious dial in malachite and a moonphase complication.

The new Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture Malachite comes in a 40 mm x 12.40 mm case, crafted from polished 18K white gold.

Following current trends, the case has been reduced by 2 mm, enhancing its elegance.

Protected by an anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal, the malachite dial stands out for its rich array of shades, ranging from light green to nearly black.

Aside from a few rare pieces featuring meteorite dials, this marks the first time Frederique Constant has used a mineral dial.

The hands and hour markers have been reworked. The three polished central hands boast a new alpha-type shape while the applied hour markers are now finer.

At 6 o'clock, the date and moonphase share a single sub-dial. A silver moon moves across a starry grey-green sky, matching the white gold case. A silver hand in the centre marks the date from 1 to 31.

For precise reading of the time, the dial is completed by the outer minute track. 

The transparent sapphire crystal caseback showcases the self-winding FC-716 calibre and its open-worked oscillating weight. Finishes include perlage and fan-like Geneva stripes pattern.

Covered by a five-year warranty, this 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) movement features a highly efficient barrel providing a full three-day power reserve (72 hours).

Each timepiece is individually engraved and numbered, paired with a topstitched dark green alligator strap and a folding buckle.
