Norqain announces the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42 mm

Norqain has unveiled the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42 mm, a skeletonised flyback chronograph powered by a new proprietary movement developed in partnership with the Manufacture AMT, a division of Sellita that handles higher-end and bespoke movements

Inspired by the world’s tallest mountains, known as the "Eight-Thousanders" (14 peaks over 8,000 meters), the Norqain 8K Manufacture Calibre (NK24/1) is a 4 Hz flyback chronograph movement. It allows for a quick reset and restart with a single button press—originally a feature for pilots, now widely used in sports. 

Key highlights include a column wheel for precise chronograph activation, a 62-hour power reserve, and COSC chronometer certification (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres).

Protected by a double anti-reflective, scratch-resistant flat sapphire glass, the dial of the Independence Skeleton Chrono 42 mm features a central chronograph seconds hand and a twin-counter layout with a 30-minute counter at 12 o’clock and a running seconds counter at 6 o’clock.

The skeletonized design of the Norqain 8K reveals the intricate mechanics by removing parts of the dial and movement, creating a striking three-dimensional effect. Polished and sandblasted finishes enhance the design, while cutaway segments forming a mountain motif and engraved Norqain logos on the movement emphasize the brand’s connection to the mountains.

The three-dimensional effect continues on the watch’s reverse, thanks to a transparent sapphire crystal case back. 

The Norqain Independence Skeleton Chrono 42 mm is presented in two variations, both housed in a 42 mm x 13.90 mm case equipped with a screw-down crown and offering water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet.

The Independence Skeleton Chrono 42 mm Steel (ref. NN3200SC/B323) comes in 316L stainless steel and features a black satin-finished skeletonized dial with gold-plated detailing and lumed hands and hour markers. 

This version has a price of €5,700 / US$6,190 with a black rubber strap or €5,950 / US$6,490 with a four-link stainless steel bracelet (ref. NN3200SC/B323).

The Independence Skeleton Chrono 42 mm Titanium DLC (ref. NNT3200BC/P321) has a lightweight Grade 5 Titanium case coated in black DLC and a skeletonized black satin-finished dial with purple detailing and gun-metal-plated, lumed hands and hour markers. 

The case back emphasises the exclusivity of this release with the engraving “Limited Edition ONE of 300”.

Paired with a purple rubber strap, this 300-piece limited edition has a price of €6,450 / US$6,990.
