Breguet unveils the Type XX Chronograph 2067, a flyback chronograph with a ceramic bezel, a first in Breguet collections. Price €41,700
Breguet unveiled the new Type XX Chronograph 2067, a flyback chronograph with a bidirectional ring made of ceramic, a material used for the first time in Breguet collections, for this first new-generation Type XX crafted from gold.
This release follows the launch of the new-generation Type XX in June 2023, which included two versions: one military-inspired (with its name appearing as Type 20 in Arabic numerals), and the other drawing on civilian models (and whose name was written Type XX in Roman numerals).
Introduced in the early 1950s, the Type XX was one of the most popular pilot watches produced in the post-World War II years. To learn more about the milestones of this model and the unique tie of the brand with the world of aviation, we invite you to read our feature article "The history of the Breguet Type XX: exploring its aviation heritage."
The new reference takes inspiration from the civilian Type XX models of the 1950s and 1960s that followed the first Type 20 chronographs, originally designed as pilot’s watches that had to become part of the standard equipment of the Air Force and the Naval Aviation Forces.
Gold was rarely used for the Type XX, notably in 1955 for the Breguet No. 1780, which now belongs to the Breguet Museum. Only three gold timepieces were produced for this small series.

As for the bezel contrasting with the case, they appeared on the second generation of Type XXs dating from the 1970s, which were adorned with different graduations such as tachymeter scales, or with GMT indications.

The new Breguet Type XX Chronograph 2067 comes in a 42 mm x 14.1 mm rose gold case equipped with a fluted bidirectional bezel featuring a blue ceramic ring with 12-hour graduation. Water resistance is ensured up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet).
Matching the colour of the bezel insert, the sunburst blue dial has a tri-compax layout with the three snailed counters differing in size for improved legibility.
The 15-minute counter is located at 3 o'clock, the 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock and the running seconds at 9 o'clock.
The gold Arabic numerals, the hands, and the triangle on the bezel are filled with white luminescent material. The date window appears between 4 and 5 o’clock.
The 2 o’clock pusher starts and stops the chronograph functions, while the one at 4 o’clock resets and restarts the chronograph immediately, taking advantage of the “flyback” function powered by the manufacture Calibre 728.
Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, this self-winding column-wheel movement operates at a 5 Hz frequency (36,000 vibrations per hour) and offers a 60-hour power reserve provided by a blackened gold oscillating weight shaped like an aircraft wing and engraved with the Breguet logo.
It features activation and zero-resetting systems to ensure precise and smooth performance, evenly distributing pressure on the pushers.
The vertical clutch mechanism ensures immediate start without jerks, while a cross-through bridge secures the balance for durability and precision.
Calibre 728 makes use of silicon for the balance-spring, escape-wheel, and pallet-lever horns to enhance corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and accuracy by eliminating magnetic field interference.
Finally, to ensure the robustness of the movement and guarantee its precision, a cross-through bridge holds the balance wheel in place even in the event of shocks
The watch comes with both alligator leather and NATO straps in midnight blue. Its quick-change system lets you switch the leather strap easily without tools. Pressing the buttons under the lugs releases the leather strap, while the NATO strap slides between the bars and under the case.
Presented in a havana-coloured leather box reminiscent of an aircraft wing profile, the new Breguet Type XX Chronograph 2067 in rose gold, ref. 2067RK/Y9/9WU, has a price of €41,700. breguet.com
