Review: DOXA SUB 200T

Hands-on reviews of the new DOXA SUB 200T diver's watch. Thanks to its 39mm case, the new SUB 200T is suitable for all wrist sizes. Prices from €1,550
DOXA's collection of diver's watches offers an impressive selection, showcasing a wide range of sizes, colours, and performance features.

The latest addition is the SUB 200T line, launched last April, which introduced several novelties, including a new case diameter and new dial colours and finishes.

Hands-on review of the DOXA SUB 200T

In line with the current trend favouring smaller-sized watches, this diver's timepiece will appeal to many enthusiasts seeking both functionality and a more understated wrist presence.

Following our overview article where we showcased all seven iconic DOXA colours – Professional Orange, Searambler Silver, Sharkhunter Black, Caribbean Navy, Divingstar Yellow, Aquamarine Turquoise, Whitepearl White – along with the new Sea Emerald Green variation, we are now delighted to share our live pictures of two SUB 200T models from the range: the Divingstar Yellow with a sunray dial and metal bracelet (ref. 804.10.361S.10) and the Aquamarine Turquoise with a sunray dial and rubber strap (ref. 804.10.241S.25).

The DOXA SUB 200T maintains the key elements that made its classic 1960s design iconic: the cushion-shaped case, patented bezel with two separate scales, and a clear dial with an oversized minute hand.

However, its streamlined case, now reduced to a diameter of 39 mm and a well-proportioned thickness of 10.70 mm, enhances its versatility and ensures a comfortable fit for most wrist sizes.

Crafted from 316L stainless steel, the case features alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces and ensures water resistance up to 200 metres / 660 feet, aided by its screw-down crown.

Adorned with the "DOXA fish" symbol in a colour matching the bezel's scale, the crown operates in 4 positions. In position 0, it tightly screws down against the case. By unscrewing it to position 1, you can wind the watch; in position 2, set the date; and in position 3, set the time.

The watch is equipped with DOXA’s patented unidirectional rotating bezel, featuring an integrated US Navy no-decompression limit table expressed in feet.

Moving precisely with 120 audible clicks, it enables divers to calculate and monitor their no-decompression dive times accurately.

The outer ring shows the given dive depths. The inner ring shows the time in minutes at the depths indicated on the outer ring. The Descent Marker (the two dots) is used to set the dive duration starting at the current time.

Once aligned with the two dots, the large minute hand indicates the duration in minutes that the wearer can safely remain at the desired depth and return to the surface without requiring a decompression stop.

DOXA SUB 200T Aquarmarine

Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, the dial features hands and hour-markers treated with Super-LumiNova luminescent material for improved legibility in low light environments and during dives. The date window at 3 o'clock completes the indications.

The dials are offered in two distinct finishes: the matte and anti-reflective Iconic, or the elegant and ever-changing Sunray featured in the models reviewed.

The screw-in solid case back is engraved with a sailing boat, symbolizing this model's special connection to the sea world.

Behind it, we find the reliable SW 200 Calibre produced by Sellita, one of the largest manufacturers of Swiss mechanical watch movements.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and adorned with DOXA decorations, this self-winding movement provides a power reserve of approximately 38 hours.

DOXA SUB 200T

Each SUB 200T model can be paired with the hallmark stainless-steel 'rice grain' bracelet or with an FKM rubber strap matching the dial’s colour. FKM (Fluroelastomer) rubber is particularly resistant to extreme heat and aggressive chemicals.

Both options feature a deployant clasp with a diver’s extension that can increase the total length by up to 15 mm, ideal for quick adjustments over a wetsuit or in varying weather conditions.  The lug width measures 18 mm.

The new DOXA SUB 200T retails at the price of € 1,550 / US$ 1,550 for the version with the FKM rubber strap and € 1,590 / US$ 1,590 for the version with the stainless steel bracelet.

Thanks to its reduced diameter and streamlined design, the new SUB 200T is suitable for all wrist sizes and occasions while maintaining the unique appeal of DOXA's legendary diver's watches. doxawatches.com
