Baume & Mercier Riviera Acier-Titane 10769: sporty refinement in dual-tone

Baume & Mercier introduced the Riviera Acier-Titane 10769, a sporty dual-tone timepiece in steel and titanium. Price €4,750

Among several novelties in the Riviera collection, including the Squelette 10721 and the Perpetual Calendar 10786, in 2024 Baume & Mercier also introduced the Riviera Acier-Titane 10769.

This sporty bi-colour model comes in a 42 mm x 10.66 mm case in sandblasted steel with a blue PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) treatment and is equipped with the signature dodecagonal bezel, here crafted in sandblasted titanium with a gray PVD treatment. 

The four steel screws are made of sandblasted ADLC-coated steel. A gold-tone PVD steel ring links the bezel with the caseband, adding a nice touch. 

The octagonal crown is made of sandblasted ADLC-coated steel and decorated with a gold-tone line.  The engraved Greek letter Phi is the symbol of the golden ratio as well as the brand's logo. Even without a screwed-down crown, the Riviera Acier-Titane 10769 is waterproof up to a pressure of 10 bar (approximately 100 metres / 330 feet).  

Protected by a sapphire crystal with an anti-glare coating on both sides, the dial is characterised by a smoky blue decorated sapphire dial that, thanks to its transparency, offers glimpses of the gear trains of the Baumatic mechanical movement. 

The faceted gold-tone hour and minute hands along with the Roman numerals and riveted gold-tone indexes are generously coated with white Super-LumiNova emitting a blue glow in low light environments. 

The minute track can be seen through the smoked sapphire crystal. Central seconds and a date aperture at 3 o’clock complete the dial indications.

The dodecagonal case back is crafted in sandblasted ADLC-coated steel and fastened with four screws. Its sapphire crystal reveals the BM13-1975A Calibre that operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a remarkable power reserve of 5 days or 120 hours, a performance that is very rare to find in an automatic movement.

The Baumatic offers excellent performances in terms of magnetic fields, autonomy, precision, and durability while remaining affordable. Its silicon balance-spring is antimagnetic, three times lighter than the ordinary alloys used for hairspring, resistant to corrosion and less sensitive to small impacts and repeated vibrations.

The entire movement and its oscillating weight are enhanced by "Côtes de Genève" and snailed decorations.

Featuring a canvas pattern, the built-in blue rubber strap may be changed without the use of tools thanks to a robust, reliable mechanism. Its triple folding buckle is crafted in sandblasted ADLC-coated steel, and it features security push-pieces and an easy adjustment feature.  

The new Baume & Mercier Riviera Acier-Titane 10769 has a suggested retail price of € 4,750 / US$ 4,500. A six-year warranty extension compliments the standard two-year international warranty, bringing an eight-year guarantee to anyone registering on the Baume & Mercier website.
