The latest creation from the collaboration between Louis Erard and French designer Alain Silberstein, which began in 2019, is the Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Smile-Day. This limited edition watch, featuring a grey dial, is restricted to just 178 pieces.

With its bold use of colours and geometric shapes, the watch openly reveals the hand of Alain Silberstein, whose signature style draws inspiration from the Bauhaus movement.

The new model is housed in a microblasted grade 2 titanium frame fixed on a vertical sidebar called “brancard” in polished grade 5 titanium and flanked by its signature conical crown stamped with the Louis Erard symbol. 

Measuring 40 mm in diameter and 11.60 mm thick, the case is waterproof up to a pressure of 10 bars (100 metres / 330 feet). 

The dial showcases the hours, minutes, and seconds hands using red, blue, and yellow primary colours that stand out against a glossy grey background.

At 6 o’clock, just above the date window, we find the "Smile-Day" aperture, which does not display names but rather seven playful emojis that the wearers can use to express themselves and reflect their current disposition, from a subtle smirk to radiant joy. 

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the automatic Sellita SW220-1 calibre is personalised with an openworked oscillating weight featuring a black lacquered Louis Erard symbol. 

Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers a power reserve of 38 hours. 

The strap is made of special grey nylon and is equipped with a microblasted Grade 2 titanium hook-and-loop fastener system for quick adjustment, as well as functional catch spring bars allowing the strap to be changed quickly.
