Bovet unveils the Récital 12 and Its first metal bracelet

Bovet has unveiled its first timepiece featuring an metal bracelet, the new Récital 12.

Designed with optimal comfort in mind, this new bracelet is elegantly paired with the 40 mm x 9.8 mm case, crafted from polished Grade 5 Titanium.

Light yet strong, titanium is ideal for timepieces, being highly resistant to corrosion, scratch-resistant, and hypoallergenic.

Specifically, Bovet uses Grade 5 titanium, an alloy that contains 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium, which allows for improved finishing compared to Grade 2 titanium.

The bracelet features an ingenious folding clasp with an expansion mechanism, providing up to 3 mm of adjustability to accommodate minor fluctuations in wrist size throughout the day. The design is highlighted by polished and matte-brushed surfaces, incorporating the “V” of Bovet. When the folding clasp comes together, the tips of the V form an infinity symbol.

The new Récital 12 features a brand-new movement, the hand-wound Calibre 13BMDR12C2, whose baseplate, typically visible from the front of the timepiece, has been inverted.

Resembling a three-quarter plate, this new baseplate features a circular bridge with 'Bovet' engraved on it, designed to make the timepiece thinner.

Operating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), this new movement provides seven days of power reserve (168 hours) from a single barrel.

The dial side showcases the balance wheel and regulating organ, as well as a portion of the gear train powered by the single barrel. A new bridge was developed for the seconds cage.

On top of the seconds wheel is a three-pronged running seconds indicator featuring three thermally-blued hands.

The in-house produced off-set dial is embellished with a “Lotus Flower” guilloché with 12 petals to represent the 12 hours. It comes in three colours: turquoise, dark blue, or emerald green. Fire-blued screws hold the dial in place, and it is coated with eight layers of lacquer.

Above it, a power reserve sector completes the dial indications.
