Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic: an alpine and maritime blend

The new Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic model from Alpina blends alpine and maritime inspirations. The Swiss watchmaker has reinterpreted its signature Extreme case for the Seastrong Diver line of dive watches, resulting in a stronger and more distinctive look.

The compact 39mm x 40.50mm size of the cushion-shaped case makes this watch comfortable for wrists of any size and versatile in its everyday use. 

Crafted from stainless steel with alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces, the case is equipped with a unidirectional rotating diving bezel featuring a matte black ceramic insert with a 60-minute scale. The total height, anti-reflective sapphire crystal included,  is 12.65mm.

Just like the knurled crown, the solid caseback is screwed-down to ensure water resistance to 30 ATM (300 metres / 1000 feet).

The new Alpina Seastrong Diver Extreme Automatic is available in three variations.

The first (ref. AL-525G3VE6B) sports an anthracite dial combining it to an integrated three-link steel bracelet, borrowed from the Extreme line, which features alternating satin and polished finishes and is secured to the wrists by a deployment clasp. 

The other two sporty, dynamic alternatives come with a navy blue dial on a textured rubber strap in the same hue (ref. AL-525N3VE6) or with an orange flange and a similarly matching rubber strap (ref. AL-525BO3VE6). 

Three central, manually-polished hands sit at the heart of a dial textured with Alpina’s iconic triangular emblem, punctuated by a date window at 6 o’clock featuring black figures on a white background.

In compliance with the ISO 6425 standard used to certify dive watches, both the hour and minute hands and the hour markers have been coated with Super-LumiNova for optimal readability, even in darker environments. 

Behind the solid caseback, engraved with the Seastrong logo, the self-winding AL-525 calibre reliably operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of 38 hours.
