The new Baume & Mercier Riviera Perpetual Calendar 10786 showcases one of the most exclusive complications in watchmaking. It not only displays hours, minutes, and seconds but also includes the day, month, year (accounting for leap years), and moon phases.

A hallmark of Baume & Mercier and a regular feature in the Clifton collection, the perpetual calendar was introduced to the Riviera line in 2023 to commemorate its 50th anniversary with the Riviera reference 10742, a 50-piece limited edition.

Building on the instant success of the previous edition, the new Riviera Perpetual Calendar 10786 retains the winning formula, now featuring an elegant grey dial within a 40 mm x 11.8 mm stainless steel case.

Recognizable for its dodecagonal shape, the case alternates polished and satin-finished surfaces to highlight the dynamic lines. Secured by four screws, the bezel is crafted in polished satin-finished stainless steel. 

Adding to its sophisticated design, the octagonal crown is encircled by a sleek black outline, while the brand’s Phi logo is displayed at the center.

Protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-glare coating on both sides, the grey dial has vertical brushed finishes and three snailed counters. The riveted indexes are rhodium-plated, just like the openworked hour and minute hands. 

The seconds hand carries the Phi logo as a counterweight on its extremity. The counter hands are crafted in black polished and oxidized bicolor steel. The leap year hand is red. The moon phase disk is polished and rhodium-plated with a black lacquer finish.   

The dodecagonal case back is fastened with four steel screws and equipped with a transparent sapphire crystal to display the Baumatic manufacture self-winding movement, equipped with a Dubois-Dépraz perpetual calendar module and a gold-plated oscillating weight that coordinates with the color of the dial. Finishes include circular-grained bridges and a sand-blasted and snailed baseplate.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this advanced movement offers a five-day power reserve (120 hours) and protection against everyday magnetic fields. A six-year warranty extension to the standard two-year international warranty brings a remarkable eight-year guarantee to anyone registering the watch.

The integrated bracelet features three rows of polished and satin-finished stainless steel links, complemented by a triple folding buckle with security push-pieces. Additionally, the watch comes with an extra built-in strap in gray rubber, topped with tone-on-tone alligator stitching. The straps are interchangeable without the use of tools, thanks to a robust and reliable quick-release system.

Water-resistant to 5 ATM (approximately 50 meters / 330 feet), the new Baume & Mercier Riviera Perpetual Calendar ref. 10786 retails at the price of Euro 21,500 / US$ 21,000.
