Bell & Ross enriched its BR-X5 line, introduced in 2022, with the new BR-X5 Black Titanium.

Much lighter than steel and boasting an extraordinary weight-to-strength ratio, titanium has several other remarkable qualities, from being hypoallergenic to being highly resistant to corrosion. 

These properties, matched to an understated technical appearance, make titanium an ideal material for an instrument watch.  

Assembled around a waterproof container which protects the movement and made entirely of Grade 2 titanium (commercially pure titanium), the 41 mm x 12.80 mm case is hollowed out, further enhancing its lightweight design. 

The square bezel with its round sapphire crystal on the dial side and the open caseback on the movement side are fixed to the two plates that form the top and bottom of the sandwich type case. The whole is kept watertight with four screws through the entire case, in a multi-layer assembly. 

The anti-reflective matt finish of the grey case is achieved through fine micro-sandblasting.

The dial's readability, even in low light environments, is a priority for Bell & Ross and this is guaranteed by large indices and hands, covered with SLN X1 white Super-LumiNova (other than the seconds hand). The minute indices are displayed on a flange.

The large date aperture at 3 o'clock is visually balanced by a circular power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock. 

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, the proprietary BR-CAL.323 calibre manufactured by Swiss watchmaker Kenissi is equipped with a variable-inertia balance wheel and a personalised oscillating weight with a design inspired by a sports car rim.

Certified as a chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Control Body (COSC), this self-winding movement beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with an autonomy of approximately 70 hours. It features a rapid date correction device which allows adjustment at any time, without altering the operation of the watch.

Water-resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, the Bell & Ross BR-X5 Black Titanium can be paired to either a black rubber strap (ref. BRX5R-BL-TI/SRB) or to an integrated titanium bracelet (ref. BRX5R-BL-TI/STI) with prices of Euro 8,900 and Euro 9,900, respectively. bellross.com
