Piaget Polo Date 150th Anniversary Editions, G0A49023 and G0A49028

Piaget released two Polo Date 150th Anniversary Editions, one in 42mm, G0A49023, and the other in 36mm, G0A49028, with prices of €15,400 and €22,700

Piaget continues to celebrate its 150th Anniversary with special timepieces. After the Polo 79, and the Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon, the Maison founded by  Georges-Édouard Piaget in 1874 has released two Piaget Polo Date 150th Anniversary Editions, one in 42 mm and the other in 36 mm.

Both versions are crafted from stainless steel, equipped with stylish rubber straps, and water resistant to 10 ATM (100 metres / 330 feet). 

Each version will be produced in a series of 300 pieces, exclusively available at Piaget's physical and online boutiques.

The Piaget Polo Date 150th Anniversary 42 mm, ref. G0A49023, is 9.4 mm thick and is matched to a brown strap. 

The sapphire crystal case back reveals the manufacture 1110P calibre. This self-winding mechanical movement offers hours, minutes, central seconds and a date window at 6 o'clock. It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and has a power reserve of 50 hours. 

Finishes include circular Côtes de Genève, bevelled bridges, blued screws and a slate grey oscillating weight with circular Côtes de Genève and engraved with the Piaget coat of arms.

The Piaget Polo Date 150th Anniversary 36 mm, ref. G0A49028, is 8.8 mm thick and set with 96 brilliant-cut diamonds, 60 on the bezel and 36 adorning the dial. It is paired with a beige strap, marking the first time that the 36 mm version has appeared with a rubber strap, having previously only been available with a metal bracelet or a leather strap. 

This smaller model is powered by the self-winding manufacture 500P1 calibre, beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offering a power reserve of 40 hours. Like the 1110P calibre, the finishes are excellent and visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back. 

Giving a nod to the signature gadroons on the original Piaget Polo, the dials of these two collector’s timepieces – display the same stunning play of materials as their ancestor. The rose gold-coloured hands brighten the steel case, with the second hand bearing the inscription “150”, a detail that reinforces the status of collector’s editions of these timepieces.
