Their most recent collaboration brings forth a new regulator timepiece, Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Cédric Johner, born from the creative fusion with Geneva-based talent, Cédric Johner.

Johner embarked on his career journey at just 15, training as a jeweller in Geneva. His path then led him to the realm of watchmaking, where he honed his craft in development, prototypes, and unique pieces. 

Today, based in his Geneva workshop, Johner passionately practices traditional techniques, meticulously designing, crafting, sculpting, and decorating each piece by hand. Notably, his creations often feature a distinctive hexagonal dial opening, showcasing his mastery in various designs, from simple timepieces to intricate complications. He employs traditional methods, including the use of specialized tools like the perloir, a jeweller's instrument, to create unique decorations such as his signature tapestry of beads.

Manuel Emch, Artistic Director and CEO of Louis Erard, reached out to Cédric Johner with the idea of connecting the realm of artistic watches and that of refined yet accessible watchmaking, represented by Luois Erard. The partnership had the goal to craft a limited series exuding the refinement of a bespoke piece, without compromising on quality or craftsmanship, yet accessible.

Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Cédric Johner is presented in two limited editions, each comprising 178 meticulously crafted pieces: one adorned with a captivating blue dial, the other boasting a striking mauve hue. 

Many signature Louis Erard's elements are present, including the regulator calibre and the fir-tree crown.

Protected by a domed hexagonal sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the dial is characterised by the engraved guilloché decoration and the concave turned hour and minute counters, adding contrast and volume. 

The Excellence case is here enriched by the hexagonal bezel typical of Cédric Johner. Measuring 39 mm x  12.82 mm, it is water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet.

Each automatic movement has been meticulously decorated by the skilled hand of Cédric Johner with 230 intricately crafted beads, meticulously placed one by one, oscillating weight by oscillating weight, within the confines of his workshop. Operating at a frequency of 4 hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), this Sellita SW266-1 regulator calibre offers 38 hours of power reserve.
