Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch with lacquered white dial and steel bracelet (ref. 310.30.42.50.04.001) has a price of €9,100/$8,100
Omega is enriching its Speedmaster line with a new white dial version of its iconic Moonwatch chronograph.
The new Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional White in stainless steel follows the classic black dial version which was redesigned in 2021 (you can read our hands-on review here) and is available with two sapphire crystals to protect the dial and showcase the movement on the back.
The signature 42 mm asymmetrical case in 316L stainless steel is characterised by twisted lugs, crown guards, and flat-capped chronograph pushers and equipped with an anodised aluminium bezel ring with tachymeter scale. It includes the famous “Dot over Ninety” referring to the position of the dot near the 90 in the tachymeter scale, and a dot diagonal to 70, details for die-hard fans.
Water resistance is maintained at 5 bar (approximately 50 metres / 165 feet).
Like the black one, the new white dial features a step dial with a recessed minute track and includes contrasting black details and a glossy lacquered finish - a first on a Moonwatch step dial.
The central minutes and seconds hands are slightly domed at their ends to follow the bevel of the step dial. The counterweight of the central seconds hand has a teardrop shape instead of a flat one.
The layout is classic, with the chronograph minutes and hours counters at 3 and 6 o'clock respectively and running seconds at 9 o'clock. Central hands and indices are treated with Super-LumiNova for improved readability in poor light conditions.
The red touches for the Speedmaster logo and the tip of central chronograph seconds hand are inspired by the Commander stripes on astronaut suits.
The movement is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, beating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour). In accordance with such operating frequency, the minute track of the dial is split by 3 divisions, as opposed to the 5 divisions of the previous Speedmaster generation. This way, when you stop the chronograph seconds hand, the read-out is more accurate.
Thanks to the use of anti-magnetic alloys and the Co-axial escapement with a silicon balance spring, Calibre 3861 made it possible to certify the entire watch as a Master Chronometer, Omega's highest standard of precision, chronometric performance and anti-magnetism.
Offering excellent accuracy (+5/0 seconds per day on average) but also its power reserve, Calibre 3861 ensures 50 hours of power reserve. The hacking seconds function, which stops the seconds hand whenever the crown is pulled out, is Useful to set the time more accurately.
The Speedmaster Moonwatch White is presented on a five-arched-links-per-row bracelet with a double folding clasp enhanced by a polished Omega logo on a satin-finished cover with a groove motif.
The new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch with lacquered white dial and stainless steel bracelet (ref. 310.30.42.50.04.001) retails at Euro 9,100 (including VAT) / US$ 8,100 (excluding local sales taxes). The strap versions are priced at Euro 8,700 (including VAT) / US$ 7,800 (excluding local sales taxes).
Two more versions are also available, including one on a black micro-perforated leather strap with red and white stitching, and another on an anti-bacterial rubber strap with a moon surface pattern in positive relief on the underside for increased comfort and aesthetics. omegawatches.com
