Louis Erard presented the latest chapter of its long-standing collaboration with French designer Alain Silberstein: Le Régulateur Tourbillon Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein black.

A limited edition of just 78 pieces, this model follows the Khaki edition presented in 2023 that was only available as part of the 28-piece Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Khaki Triptych.

For over a decade, Alain Silberstein hadn't crafted a timepiece featuring a tourbillon. However, his friendship with Louis Erard's CEO and Artistic Director, Manuel Emch, made this return possible. This collaboration was further enhanced by the innovative watchmaker Olivier Mory, who innovated tourbillon craftsmanship with a customizable, affordable, and Swiss-made movement crafted entirely within a few kilometers of his workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds

Invented by Abraham Louis Breguet to counteract the effects of gravitational forces on the accuracy of a timepiece, a tourbillon mechanism places the regulating organ (the sprung balance) and the escapement inside a mobile carriage that rotates around itself and distributes the oscillations of the balance wheel over 360 degrees.

The movement developed by Olivier Mory for Louis Erard showcases the watchmaker's talent, merging a tourbillon with a regulator display—a signature of Louis Erard since its inception in 1929.

The matt black dial features a black flange with white transfers featuring yellow and red indexes. The silvered counter at 12 o'clock indicates the hour with a red lacquered hand while the central blue lacquered hand shows the minutes. 

The large tourbillon at 6 o'clock performs a complete rotation every 60 seconds thus indicating the running seconds via the yellow lacquered serpentine hand.

The watch comes in a 40 mm x 11.80 mm case featuring a microblasted Grade 2 titanium frame fixed on a vertical sidebar called “brancard” in polished Grade 5 titanium and flanked by a signature conical crown stamped with the Louis Erard symbol. 

Waterproofness is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 bars (100 metres / 330 feet). 

Showcased through the transparent sapphire crystal case back, the BCP T02 tourbillon regulator movement beats at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) and offers a remarkable power reserve of approximately 100 hours.

The strap is made of special nylon and is equipped with a microblasted grade 2 titanium, hook-and-loop fastener system for quick adjustment, as well as functional catch spring bars allowing the strap to be changed quickly.
