The Swiss brand Angelus introduced the Instrument de Vitesse, a mono-pusher chronograph equipped with a single timing hand – the central seconds hand – designed to measure elapsed time of up to one minute.

Characterised by a refined retro sports aesthetic, the Instrument de Vitesse is housed in a 39 mm stainless steel case, with a thickness of only 9.27 mm, thanks to the slim design of the 4.20 mm manually wound Manufacture calibre. The crown also serves as the chronograph’s single push-piece for starting the central seconds hand.

The watch is offered in two limited series, each comprising 25 timepieces.

The first series showcases an ivory-white dial adorned with applied Arabic numerals outlined in black. This version is paired with a midnight-blue nubuck strap.

In contrast, the second series features a caramel calfskin strap and boasts an ebony-black dial adorned with rhodium-plated applied Arabic numerals in contrasting white.

Both series feature hour and minute hands, as well as applied numerals, coated with luminescent material for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions.

Protected by a box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, the domed dial is divided into two distinct zones. The peripheral indications are dedicated to the tachymeter scale, graduated from 60 to 500 with a base metric of 1,000 (typically one kilometre). The inner portion is dedicated to displaying the time, featuring a finely graduated minutes circle.

The A5000 chronograph movement operates at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 42 hours. It operates using a column wheel and horizontal clutch, following the pure chronograph tradition.

Through the transparent sapphire crystal, it is possible to appreciate the finishes of the movement, including circular-grained and chamfered bridges, Côtes de Genève motif, golden (2N) wheels, and polished screws.
