Bulgari Octo Finissimo Automatic: unveiling new models for 2024

In 2024, on occasion of the LVMH Watch Week (Miami, January 29-February 1, 2024), Bulgari's acclaimed Octo Finissimo range expands with two new automatic models, introducing fresh nuances through the appealing warmth of a salmon dial and the captivating radiance of yellow gold.

Both models are housed in the distinctive 40 mm x 6.4 mm case defined by its 58 facets and alternating satin-finished and polished surfaces.

Their transparent casebacks reveal the extra-slim BVL 138 calibre, a Manufacture movement that measures just 2.23 mm in thickness. It features automatic winding via a platinum micro-rotor, building a power reserve of up to 60 hours.

Operating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), this slender movement showcases meticulous craftsmanship with hand-finished chamfers, circular graining, and Côtes de Genève stripes.

The first model, the Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper Automatic 103856, features a sunray Tuscan copper dial in a salmon hue that is very rare among Bulgari's timepieces.

Rhodium-plated hands and indexes create subtle and elegant contrasts on this coppery face, paired with a case and bracelet in 904L stainless steel. 

Regarding the choice of this particular hue, Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, Product Creation Executive Director, explains: “Here, the metallic salmon tone draws its inspiration not from the usual vintage aesthetic prized by collectors, but from the very roots of Italian art, that of the 16th century, and more precisely from a disruptive movement of the time, called Mannerism, which marked my own training as a designer. Hence, my choice for this color symbolizes an experimental and disruptive artistic approach.”

The second model, the Octo Finissimo Yellow Gold Automatic 103812, shines in yellow gold, a precious metal that reflects Bulgari’s historic mastery of goldsmithing (for more insight into this subject, we invite you to read "The history of Bulgari watches"), while evoking the luster of vintage luxury watches. As typical in the Octo Finissimo, the crown is embellished by a black ceramic insert.

The sun-like glow of the gold enhances the beautifully lacquered deep blue dial with a sunray finish, while golden hands and hour markers ensure optimal legibility.

Completed by polished and satin-finish bracelets with integrated triple-blade folding clasps, the new Octo Finissimo Tuscan Copper Automatic 103856 and Yellow Gold Automatic 103812 are water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet.
