Greubel Forsey introduces the Balancier 3

Greubel Forsey presents the new Balancier 3, the answer to the request for a relatively more affordable timepiece. Price is CHF 160,000

Part of Greubel Forsey's Convexe collection, the new Balancier 3 responds to the demand for a more affordable timepiece within their collection — albeit in the context of the Swiss brand's exceptionally high standards. Of course, it remains entirely true to the exclusivity associated with Greubel Forsey, retaining the hallmark of an Atelier Manufacture movement and impeccable 100% hand-made finishes.

Available in two black or blue versions limited to 88 pieces each, the new model comes in a 41.5 mm x 13.55 mm case crafted from titanium and characterised by a three-dimensional, variable geometry-shaped bezel. 

Profiled on both the back and display sides, the piece naturally follows the curvature of the wrist. The lugs no longer have screws. 

The architecture of the openworked dial is defined by three prominent bridges: the first of which houses the barrel, the second for the large balance wheel, and the third is attached to the seconds counter and supports the hour and minute hands.

All these bridges feature Greubel Forsey’s signature hand finishes: a curved polished surface, polished bevels and hand-polished screws. 

The two series-coupled fast-rotating barrels (one turn in 3.2 hours) prominently displayed and adorned with the distinctive rotating graphics design that is now a hallmark of the Convexe collection. Together, they provide a chronometric power reserve lasting three full days. The power reserve is shown on the case back, a first for the Convexe collection.

On the opposite side, the large balance wheel (Balancier in French) is positioned between 4 and 6 o’clock. Beautifully integrated into the design, this Greubel Forsey variable-inertia balance is balanced thanks to its 6 gold mean-time screws. It boasts the Atelier's signature large diameter of 12.6 mm. Its 21,600 vibrations per hour resonate with the small second display at 8 o’clock, where the satin-finished disc beneath, rotated and marked by hand, indicates the passing seconds. 

Paired with a rubber strap matching the dial colour and water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the Greubel Forsey Balancier 3 is priced at CHF 160,000. A titanium bracelet is available upon request. greubelforsey.com
