Oris launches ProPilot GMT with red gradient dial

Oris announced the release of the ProPilot GMT, a robust timepiece designed with timezone-crossing pilots in mind.

The watch comes in a stealthy grey-PVD-plated stainless steel case measuring 41.5 mm in diameter and equipped with a large screw-in security crown, ensuring water resistance up to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet).

Distinguished by a matte, satin-brushed finish designed to counteract cockpit glares, the case is enhanced by a bezel engraved with a pulsometer scale allowing the precise measurement of heart rates. This distinctive feature draws inspiration from the deep connections of the Swiss brand with leading aeromedical organizations around the globe.

Protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner side, the gradient red dial offers a striking contrast for the hands and the applied numerals. These are generously coated with Super-LumiNova for improved readability in darker environments.

The second time zone is indicated by a central hand finished with a red pointer. Indications are completed with a date aperture at 3 o'clock.

Visible through the screwed transparent case back, the Oris 798 self-winding movement (base Sellita SW 330-1) beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a power reserve of 42 hours.

The watch is paired with a black textile strap with a red leather lining and the patented ‘Lift’ clasp, inspired by commercial airliner seatbelt buckles. The lug width measures 20 mm.
