YEMA launched the Yachtingraf Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary,
combining a 60-second tourbillon with a tides indicator. Price €9,990.
Based in Morteau, France, a few steps from the Swiss watchmaking region, YEMA was founded by French watchmaker Henry Louis Belmont in 1948. To celebrate 75 years of history and the ongoing transition towards a vertically integrated watchmaking Manufacture, the French brand is launching the Yachtingraf Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary, an eye-catching timepiece that combines a 60-second tourbillon with a tides indicator.
Available in stainless steel and bronze editions limited to 75 numbered copies each, the Yachtingraf Tourbillon Mareographe comes in a 42.5 mm case featuring different finishes with vertical brushing, polished beveled lugs and a circular brushed bezel.
The unidirectional rotating bezel is crafted from scratch-resistant, slightly domed sapphire, requiring a time-consuming manufacturing process. The bezel is completed by an insert with a minimalist 0-60 graduation and a luminescent marker at noon.
The total thickness of the timepiece, including the 2.2 mm high double-domed sapphire crystal, is 14.5 mm. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet).
The dial takes inspiration from the aesthetic codes of the 1970s Yachtingraf iconic model. It features a sunray black finish with applied markers coated with Super-LumiNova and a colourful Maréographe register reminiscent of the regatta-style Yachtingraf vintage model, completed with a tides indicator in the form of a small hand decorated with YEMA’s logo.
This hand indicates high and low tides by making gradual half-revolutions every 6h 12m 7.89s (change from high tide to low tide and vice versa) and a full revolution every 12h 25m 15.79s.
At the 6 o'clock position, the 60-second tourbillon creates a captivating kinetic display, captivating the wearer as it oscillates and rotates within the partially open dial.
The transparent caseback reveals the architecture of the CMM.30 tourbillon calibre, a robust hand-wound movement offering 105 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
Equipped with non-magnetic components, such as a Swiss-made non-metallic alloy hairspring, a Glucydur balance wheel with an adjustment mass made in gold and micro-components manufactured with LiGA technology materials, the CMM.30 is capable of withstanding exposures to electromagnetic fields up to 2,000 Gauss, a real feat for a tourbillon caliber.
The architecture of the tourbillon cage bridge with its free-sprung balance wheel and shock absorbers make the CMM.30 impervious to shocks, vibrations, and acceleration up to 5,000 Gs in all directions. A tourbillon movement built for daily use.
All the components of the Yachtingraf Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary, including the watch case, dial, and hands, are manufactured in France and Switzerland within a range of 72km from Morteau. The calibre bridges and mainplates are manufactured in YEMA’s workshops in Morteau where final assembly of all components takes place.
The caseback outer ring is engraved with a unique Limited Edition number (XX/75) and a serial number (XXX-XXX).
Paired with premium quality FKM Viton rubber straps (the lug width is 20 mm), the YEMA Yachtingraf Tourbillon Mareographe 75th Anniversary Limited editions, either in 316L stainless steel (37.33.66.SN.U6) or in bronze (37.33.66.ZN.U6), are attractively priced at Euro 9,990. yema.com
