Swiss watchmaker Fortis announced the launch of the Novonaut N-42 , a sporty chronograph built on the legacy of the B-42 Official Cosmonauts.

Powered by the space-tested self-winding Fortis Caliber 17 and boasting a power reserve of 60 hours, this column-wheel chronograph comes in a 42 mm stainless steel case equipped with a bidirectional rotating bezel made of ceramic and featuring Super-LumiNova inserts.

Its dial features a 6-9-12 layout with running seconds at 9 o'clock, visually balanced by day of the week and date indications at 3 o'clock. Combined with luminous hour and minute hands, the applied Lumicast numerals ensure optimal legibility even in low-light conditions.  

The Fortis Novonaut collection debuts with three models.

 

Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, the Novonaut First Edition (ref. F2040010) is characterised by a sunburst black dial enlivened by orange accents, a black bezel with polished finish polished, and a special blackened sapphire crystal case back revealing the movement. It is paired to a stainless steel block bracelet with adjustable slide clasp. Price: CHF 4,750.

 

Available with a steel bracelet (ref. F2040008) or a hybrid strap made from FKM and high-strength fabric (ref. F2040009), the Novonaut Legacy Edition features black ceramic bezel and dial, both with a matte finish, and a solid case back with engraving. Price: CHF 4,450 with a bracelet, CHF 4,200 with a strap.

The Novonaut Cobalt Blue Edition - ref. F2040012 with a steel bracelet or F2040013 with a hybrid strap - stands out for its sunburst-brushed blue dial and polished blue ceramic bezel. Like the First Edition, it is fitted with a a blackened sapphire crystal back. Price: CHF 4,650 with a bracelet, CHF 4,350 with a strap.
