Longines is expanding its HydroConquest line with new variations featuring a GMT complication, a first for this emblematic collection launched in 2007, and powered by the new in-house Calibre L844.4, previously adopted, in a COSC-version, for the Spirit Zulu Time. The GMT function is very practical as it allows the time to be displayed simultaneously in two time zones. Longines introduced this complication concept on a wristwatch as early as 1925. 

The new HydroConquest GMT model is housed in 41 mm x 12.90 mm robust case crafted from stainless steel, with its lines well highlighted by alternating polished and satin finished surfaces. The large screw-in crown is protected by two guards, a detail that enhances the look of the watch while making it even sturdier. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 30 bar (300 metres / 990 feet).

The HydroConquest GMT is also distinguished by its new unidirectional notched ceramic bezel fitted with a Super-LumiNova-treated capsule on the triangle at 12 o'clock. 

The green, brown, black and blue sunray dials are enhanced by a two-tone24-hour scale. The gilt or silvered polished hands and hour-markers are coated with Super-LumiNova, for improved legibility in any light conditions. They are round at 6 and 9 o'clock and triangular at 12 o'clock. At 3 o'clock, the date window shows the date. The arrow-shaped GMT hand matches the colour of the dial decals. To protect the dial, a sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating on both sides is used.

Behind the screw-down case back, the Calibre L844.5 beats at 25,200 vibrations per hour and offers a comfortable power reserve of 72 hours or 3 days. This self-winding GMT movement is equipped with a silicon balance-spring and innovative components in non-magnetic materials, making it ten times more resistant to magnetic fields than the ISO 764 benchmark standard. 

Silicon is not only impervious to magnetic attraction but also highly resistant to corrosion and wear. Lighter and harder than steel, it reduces inertia and requires no lubricant. 

The new HydroConquest GMT models are fitted with a stainless-steel bracelet with completely redesigned H-shaped links. It is also, for the first time at Longines, equipped with a microadjusting clasp. Complementing the colours of the dials, the new watches are also available with a blue or black rubber strap with microadjusting folding clasp for perfect fit and comfort. A NATO bracelet in khaki-green or beige is also available.
