Edouard Koehn presented the World Heritage II Universal Time & Alarm Limited Editions in five version with a price of CHF 8,000

Swiss brand Edouard Koehn is expanding its range of complicated models combining world time and alarm functions with the new World Heritage II model whose dial is made even more eye-catching by a new guilloché decoration.

Adding to the World Heritage I that we presented here, the new World Heritage II Universal Time & Alarm offers two complications that are particularly useful to travellers: one feature allows the wearer to effortlessly track time across all 24 time zones, while the other serves as a dependable reminder to never miss an important appointment. 

The new watch comes in a 42 mm x 14.50 mm case crafted from Grade 5 titanium, an alloy (titanium, aluminium and vanadium) that is lighter and more hard-wearing than steel. Titanium was chosen also because it ensures optimal acoustic performances when the alarm goes on. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 metres / 165 feet).

The main cities in each time zone appear on the central disc of the dial, which rotates completely in 24 hours. Two large Alpha hands mark the passing of time, combined with applied hour-markers on the guilloché sector. The outer ring is reserved for the alarm function, with each hour subdivided into 15-minute segments. The alarm time can be set using the crown at 4 o'clock, and is indicated by a fine hand with a red arrowhead. 

Despite a lot of information, legibility remains excellent even in low light conditions thanks to the Super-LumiNova filling the hands and the indexes. 

Five distinct limited editions, each comprising 88 pieces, are available: anthracite, blue, ice blue, green, and silver. 

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the mechanical automatic movement EK-MVTWTA01 operates at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and offers a 48-hour autonomy thanks to its double barrel which is simultaneously winding the watch and the alarm functions. The movement has been developed in collaboration with Concepto, an independent manufacturer of high-end mechanical movements based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, just like the Edouard Koehn brand.
