Singer Reimagined is launching worldwide the new 1969 Collection comprising the 1969 Timer and the 1969 Chronograph. Full specs and prices.
Part of Singer Group, the Californian luxury brand renowned for its bespoke restorations of the Porsche 911, Singer Reimagined is launching worldwide the new 1969 Collection.
Inspired by the vintage design of the timepieces from 1960s and 1970s, the collection wants to celebrate the year that marked the release of the first self-winding chronographs with the introduction on the market of three legendary movements, the Chronomatic, the El Primero and Seiko's Calibre 6139. The collection celebrates that year.
At launch, the collection comprises two models: the 1969 Timer, a three hand timepiece featuring a zero-reset system combined with a flyback device that enables elapsed-time measurement using the central second hand at a simple push of the button at 2 o’clock; and the 1969 Chronograph featuring the most recent version of the famous Agengraphe chronograph caliber and allowing event tracking of up to 60 hours.
Both models come in stylish cases measuring 40 mm x 15.6 mm and water resistant up to 10 ATM (100 metres / 330 feet). Crafted from stainless steel with brushed surfaces and polished edges, they are fitted with domed glass-box sapphire crystals that contribute to the retro-look reminiscent of classic timepieces.
The stainless-steel bracelet combines edgy brushed "H" links with contrasting rounded polished center links, providing excellent wearability and comfort. Additionally, it features an adjustable fitting system housed in the folding clasp. The lugs width is 22 mm.
The movements, AGH 6365 and AGH 6363, are a re-engineered version of the hand-wound Flytrack and the automatic Agengraphe, featuring updated displays to enhance functionalities and to fit the new 40 mm cases. Both movements are engineered and produced to unique Singer specifications by Agenhor. Both guarantee an autonomy of 72 hours.
Executed in a deep and precious piano-black lacquer finish, the dials are enriched with an applied signature golden crown ring.
The 1969 Timer features a twisted function consisting of the zero-reset – flyback system allowing to use the central sweeping seconds hand as a smart and intuitive one-minute counter.
The pusher at 2 o’clock allows to reset and restart timing quickly without needing to go through the traditional sequence of start-stop-reset. This system offers the opportunity to execute instant and sequential measurements, without interfering with watch timekeeping. A proprietary clutch system allows the central seconds hand to be dissociated from the movement and to be reengaged for motion as soon as the push button is released.
The 1969 Chronograph displays the chronographic information in pure Singer style. Seconds, jumping minutes and jumping hours hands are centrally mounted and all point to the same base-60 scale. Singer chronographs are the only ones that allow event tracking of up to 60 hours. Time-of-the-day indication is displayed on the bottom side of the dial, via two disks rotating underneath the dial surface. Disks graphics and time indication arrows are executed in Super-LumiNova.
Thanks to the positioning of the rotor underneath the dial, the spectacular architecture of Calibre 6365 and its 491 meticulously hand-finished parts can be fully appreciated through the sapphire crystal case back.
The production of the Singer Reimagined 1969 Timer and 1969 Chronograph will be limited to 50 pieces for each model, with prices of CHF 29,900 and CHF 51,000, respectively. singerreimagined.com
