MB&F - LMX Paris Edition

MB&F presents the LMX Paris Edition, a new version with a purple dial. Nicknamed LMX Deep Purple, this limited edition has a price of €122,000+VAT

MB&F introduced the LMX model in 2021 to celebrate 10 years since the creation of the first Legacy Machine, the Legacy Machine N°1 of 2011.

Following the inaugural 33 pieces in grade 5 titanium with green CVD dial, the 18 pieces in red gold with black NAC dial, and the 33 “Steel & Brass” pieces in 316L stainless steel with frosted dial, the innovative Swiss brand is now presenting the LMX Paris Edition, a new interpretation of the model that will be exclusively available at the Parisian MB&F LAB on Rue Saint-Honoré and limited to 15 pieces.

Instantly nicknamed "LMX Deep Purple" for its striking purple sunray dial, the LMX Paris Edition comes in a  white gold case with a diameter of 44 mm and a total thickness of 21.4 mm.

Under the high-domed sapphire crystal, treated with anti-reflective coating on both sides, we find the unique architecture of the model, with the central flying balance wheel and two white lacquer dials standing out prominently.

Both dials are tilted at an angle, a feature that requires a complex technical solution for the transfer of energy from horizontal to vertical planes thanks to conical gears.

The dial on the right is set by the crown at the 2 o’clock position. Engraved with the MB&F battle-axe, this crown also winds the movement. The other crown at 10 o’clock, is engraved with a globe to remind the possibility to use it for indicating a second time zone, sets the time of the left dial. 

Three large wheels are visible: placed next to each winding crown, two large wheels are set in motion when setting the time on the corresponding time display, while the gear at 6 o’clock is the running seconds’ wheel.

The 13.4 mm balance wheel featuring inertia blocks operates at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour with an autonomy of seven days (168 hours). 

The remarkable power reserve is showcased through a captivating 3D display that allows the selection between two countdown modes for the remaining autonomy. Positioned on opposite sides of a hemisphere, two markers are presented: one embraced by an arched scale numbered 1 to 7, and the other indicating the days of the week.

The transparent sapphire crystal case back reveals the three barrels placed evenly around the centre and highlighted by the sunray pattern of the Côtes de Genève finishing.
