LVMH to revive the Gerald Genta watch brand

LVMH to relaunch iconic Gerald Genta Watch Brand with modern twist led by Jean Arnault, son of LVMH Founder.

LVMH, the luxury goods conglomerate, will revive the iconic watch brand Gerald Genta, previously part of Bulgari, as a standalone brand that will be manufactured at La Fabrique du Temps, the group's watchmaking factory in Switzerland. Jean Arnault, the youngest son of LVMH founder Bernard Arnault, will lead the relaunch of the brand.

The revival follows the posthumous fame of Gerald Genta for designing the Patek Philippe Nautilus and the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in the 1970s. Evelyne Genta, the widow of the brand's namesake, believes that he is much more than those two watches and she didn't want him to be forgotten. 

The revived brand will celebrate Genta's full legacy, including the grande sonnerie, minute repeaters, and perpetual calendars he produced during the mechanical watch Renaissance that followed the quartz crisis of the 1970s.

Arnault's vision is to keep the brand's classic designs while incorporating modern technology, and the company will release new timepieces under the Gerald Genta name. More details soon.
