In pictures: Richard Mille RM 74-01 and RM 74-02 Automatic Tourbillons

The Richard Mille RM 74-01 and RM 74-02 are truly unique timepieces for Ladies.

They combine style with technicity housing sophisticated skeletonised tourbillon calibres in tonneau cases whose distinctive aesthetics is the result of the integration of precious metals with high-tech-materials.

We are delighted to share a few pictures here that well highlight the impressive level of finishes and care for details that Richard Mille puts into its creations.

The RM 74-01 features Grey Cermet, whose remarkable resistance to corrosion and scratches is particularly well-suited to creating the case. Combining the lightness of titanium with the hardness of a ceramic, Grey Cermet consists of a metallic zirconium matrix associated with high-performance ceramic inserts. The hardness of the material is comparable to that of a diamond. The grade 5 titanium caseband, bridges and baseplate smoothly and harmoniously complement the case construction.

The RM 74-02 is enhanced with another material exclusive to Richard Mille in watchmaking, Gold Carbon TPT. This time the technical challenge lay in combining a singular composite material (Carbon TPT) and a precious metal (gold leaf). The result offers a striking contrast between the matte black of the carbon and the aura of gold. Red-gold is used for the caseband with polished pillars while yellow gold encircles the crown.

The twin cores of these two models are the in-house CRMT6 calibre for the RM 74-01 and the CRMT5 calibre in the case of the RM 74-02. The baseplate and bridges of the former are composed of PVD- and electro plasma-treated grade 5 titanium, while the latter opts for yellow and red gold materials.

Each movement is equipped with a tourbillon regulator and a free-sprung balance wheel, ensuring a constant energy flow from fast-winding barrels that provide 50 hours of autonomy. They draw their energy from a variable-geometry rotor that enables winding to be adjusted to the owner’s activity level.
