Audemars Piguet continues to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Royal Oak Offshore with the release of new timepieces. Following the launch of the Black Ceramic Chrono ref. 26238, which was inspired by the first Offshore model from 1993, the Swiss luxury watch brand is now introducing the Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph ref. 26420CE.

A limited edition of 500 pieces, this black ceramic model pays homage to the Royal Oak Offshore ref. 25770SN, the first special edition of the collection that was released in 1999 for Arnold Schwarzenegger's film "End of Days". Wearing the watch in the movie, the Austrian/American actor contributed to the success of the Offshore.

Inspired by the 1999 model, the new Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Chronograph model is presented in an imposing 43 mm x 14.4 mm case entirely made of black ceramic with the addition of titanium details, such as the studs, push-pieces and case back. 

The eight screws that attach the octagonal bezel to the case are made of stainless steel. The choice of these materials makes the watch very light with a weight of only 103 grams despite its generous proportions. 

Lines, angles and bevels are meticulously hand-finished to achieve the Manufacture’s signature alternating polished and satin surfaces. Water resistant is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet).

As a nod to the black and yellow aesthetic of the original 1999 model, the new Offshore features a black dial with yellow accents on the tachymeter scale as well as on the hour markers and the white gold Royal Oak hands covered in a black treatment and enhanced with yellow luminescence. 

The applied gold AP logo stands out against the Mega Tapisserie pattern while the black counters are arranged in a 3-6-9 layout.

The 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) Calibre 4401 and its openworked oscillating weight are showcased through the transparent sapphire crystal case back. Its power reserve is 70 hours.

The watch is completed by a black calfskin strap with a textile effect and yellow stitching. Thanks to the watch’s integrated interchangeable system, it is easy to alternate it with the additional yellow calfskin strap with black stitching.
