Audemars Piguet - Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon with Dimpled Dial

Audemars Piguet released two new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon with blue 26730BC or brown 26730OR dimpled dial. Price on request.

Differently from a traditional tourbillon that is supported by a bridge on the dial side and a bridge on the movement side, a flying tourbillon is cantilevered, i.e. is only secured to the plate on one side so offering an unobstructed view of the mechanism on the other side.

This particular watchmaking feat was featured for the first time on a Royal Oak model in 2020 (you can read about it here). More recently, Audemars Piguet has released two new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon characterised by dimpled dials.

The first model, reference 26730BC.GG.1320BC.01, comes in white gold with a blue dimpled dial while the second, reference 26730OR.GG.1320OR.01, combines the warm tones of pink gold to an elegant brown dimpled dial.

The dials are completed by white or pink gold applied hour-markers and Royal Oak hands with luminescent coating.

Measuring 41 mm x 10.6 mm and offering water resistance to 50 metres / 165 feet, the case of the new Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon presents a hand-hammered bezel, a decoration that Audemars Piguet describes as "frosted gold". The gold bracelet is secured to the wrist by a double folding AP clasp.

The transparent sapphire crystal caseback showcases the automatic Calibre 2950 beating at the frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 65 hours.
