Laurent Ferrier presented the new Classic Micro-Rotor Magnetic Green, a limited edition of just 20 pieces that is the latest addition in the “Série Atelier”, used for models that are produced in very limited quantities and sold exclusively on the brand’s website with a guaranteed shipment within 40 days of purchase.

Previously used to adorn the Classic Traveller, the magnetic green dial of this edition features striking vibrant green hues that change depending on how the light hits the surface. The small seconds subdial, at 6 o'clock, is set back from the thickness of the dial and enhanced by a concentric circular snailed pattern.

The white gold drop-shaped applied hour-markers and the hour/minute hands, with their shape resembling the Assegai spears, complete the dial. 

The “pebble”-shaped 40 mm case is crafted from Grade 5 titanium. Its sides, bezel and lugs are polished for a sophisticated finish. Four times lighter than 18ct white gold, titanium makes the Classic Micro-rotor “Série Atelier” featherweight and very comfortable on the wrist. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 3 ATM (30 metres / 100 feet).

The FBN 229.01 calibre with natural escapement is equipped with a micro-rotor with an 18-carat gold oscillating weight with unidirectional winding. Through the sapphire crystal caseback, it is possible to appreciate the outstanding finishes, including the finely circular-grained plate, the hand-bevelled bridges decorated with a rhodium-plated horizontal satin-brushed finish, the mirror-polished and openworked pallet bridge, the hand-made inward angles and the rotor guilloché.

The double direct impulse escapement on the balance refers to a system equipped with two escape wheels, operating alternately and transmitting their energy directly to the balance. In this case, it is not the pallet-lever to give the impulse to the balance, as in classic Swiss lever escapements, but the escape wheel, which is much more efficient in terms of performance. As this can only turn in one direction, a second escape wheel completes the set to give the impulses to the balance alternately. They interact with a silicon pallet-lever, an ultra-light and self-lubricating material. The gain in performance achieved is directly reflected in its power reserve of more than 72 hours.
