In this article we share our live pictures of the Krayon Anywhere taken at the Pisa flagship store in Milan. Pisa Circle. Price CHF 125,000
Recent winner of the Calendar and Astronomy Prize at the 2022 edition of the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève 2022, the Krayon Anywhere is a truly exclusive timepiece that indicates the time of sunrise and sunset at any point on the globe chosen by its wearer, hence its name.
We recently had the chance to take some pictures of the Krayon Anywhere at the Pisa flagship store in Milan and we are now delighted to share them with our readers. The watch is also available through their digital platform for collectors, Pisa Circle.
The Anywhere takes advantage of the same patent used for the hyper-complicated Everywhere - winner of the Innovation Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2018 and capable of indicating the time of sunset and sunrise at any point on the globe - but in a different in order to achieve a result customised on the owners' requirements.
The watch indicates the hours and minutes with dedicated hands in the central portion of the dial, surrounded by an annular zone upon which a small sun circulates in perpetual motion, indicating the time over 24 hours. The annular zone has two sectors for day and night cut from sapphire and hand-painted in contrasting colours. The dark blue section representing the night is enriched by small Super‐LumiNova stars.
The respective lengths of the sectors constantly change, indicating by their position the sunrise and sunset times that can be read from the fixed indicator ring.
These periods are directly linked to latitude. The North-South position determines the length of the day, which is equal to the night at the equator and gradually expands towards the white night near the Arctic Circle. To integrate this geographical factor, Krayon devised a mechanical positioning system based on racks and yokes rather than a fixed cam that is visible through the transparent case back. At the customer's request and as often as desired, a Krayon watchmaker will make a simple adjustment to the movement operating on the two screws of the system.
The relative position of the two sapphire discs is determined not only by the reference position, but also by the calendar. To do this, Krayon Anywhere indicates the date and month with a handcounter at 6 o'clock. It is a simple calendar, for which every month lasts 31 days. It requires only five quick, straightforward annual adjustments, which can be made directly with the crown and in both directions.
Beating at a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour), the hand-wound calibre C030 guarantees a power reserve of 86 hours, with its barrel coupled to an elegant ratchet click. All perforations are countersunk. The shape of the bridges is particularly adorned, made of solid and fine lines that make the hand-made bevels really stand out.
The Krayon Anywhere comes in a well proportioned 39 mm x 9 mm case and is available in two interpretations: one in rose gold with creamy white tones that you can see in these pictures and the other in white gold with blue dial.
In both versions, the motif of the dial is reprised on the face of the crown. The hour markers are pyramid-shaped appliques with a triangular base, identical in shape to the Y in Krayon’s identity.
The Krayon Anywhere, whether in white gold (ref. C030-10) or in rose gold (ref. C030-20), has a suggested retail price of CHF 125,000. You can contact Pisa Circle for more information. krayon.ch
