Breguet - Reine de Naples 8918

Inspired by the very first wristwatch that Breguet designed to be worn on the wrist of Caroline Murat (1782-1839), Napoléon Bonaparte’s younger sister and Queen of the reign of Naples, the Reine de Naples is one of the Maison’s iconic pieces.

With the new Reine de Naples reference 8918, Breguet reinvents the model presenting two variations, both housed in the typical oval case featuring a delicately fluted caseband, here crafted from white gold and measuring 36.5 mm x 28.45 mm with a height of 10 mm.

For the first time in its collections, Breguet offers a Reine de Naples model with a black “Grand Feu” enamel dial. Complemented by swirling Breguet Arabic numerals, this new design is embellished with brilliant-cut diamonds. A pear-cut diamond is positioned at 6 o'clock.

The second version combines mother-of-pearl and guilloché with subtle touches of colour. Its Breguet numerals are enhanced by a red hue, echoing the ruby setting on its bezel, flange and crown. This timepiece also boasts a pear-cut ruby positioned at 6 o’clock.

Visible through the sapphire crystal porthole on the caseback, the automatic manufacture calibre 537/3 runs reliably with an autonomy of 45 hours. It features a silicon escapement and balance spring as well as a guilloché gold rotor. Each component has been carefully decorated by hand.

Combining elegance and fineness, the Reine de Naples ref. 8918BB/2N/764 D00D with black “Grand Feu” enamel dial has a price of Euro 40,400 while the ref. 8918BB/5R/964 R00R with mother-of-pearl and guilloché dial retails at Euro 43,000. breguet.com
