Longines added a tachometer chronograph to its Record collection. Characterised by a vintage aesthetic, the new Record Heritage Chronograph comes in a 40 mm x 13.80 mm stainless steel case alternating satin brushed and polished surfaces with slim rectangular pushers.

Protected by a sapphire crystal with multi-layered anti-reflective coating on both sides, the dial is matt black with golden leaf-shape hands, golden Arabic numerals marking the even hours and slender overlaid indexes marking the odd hours. 

The seconds subdial at 3 o’clock is visually balanced by the 30-minute counter placed at 9 o’clock while the tachometer scale is positioned on the outside of the dial for better visibility. 

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal, the self-winding Calibre L895.4 (base ETA A31.L21) is certified by COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) as a chronometer. Offering a power reserve of 59 hours, it beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour).

Thanks to its silicon balance spring, the movement is particularly resistant to magnetic fields. Silicon is also highly resistant to corrosion and wear. Lighter and harder than steel, it reduces inertia and requires no lubricant.
