IWC - Pilot's Watch Mark XX Collection

IWC completes the Mark XX collection with a new green version, with strap or bracelet, and bracelet versions of black and blue models. Price €5,800

Following the launch of the Pilot's Watch Mark XX in black (IW328201) and blue (IW328203), IWC is completing the Mark XX collection with the introduction of a new version with green dial, available with strap or bracelet, as well as bracelet versions of the black and blue models.

These models hark back to the legendary Mark 11, a precise and antimagnetic instrument watch developed in 1948 for the navigators and pilots of the British Royal Air Force which also used it with a sextant to determine their position during visual flights. 

The new Pilot’s Watch Mark XX ref. IW3282 features a robust and corrosion-resistant stainless steel case with a diameter of 40 mm, a thickness of 10.8 mm and improved lug ergonomics. Thanks to the screw in crown, the water resistance is now ensured up to a pressure of 10 bars.

Protected by a sapphire crystal that is secured against sudden drops in air pressure, the high-contrast dial with white numerals and indices displays the triangular index at 12 o’clock, a signature design detail of IWC’s Pilot’s watches. 

Luminous elements on the dial and the rhodium-plated hands ensure great readability in all lighting conditions.

The four new references are the following:

Ref. IW328202 with black dial and stainless steel bracelet

Ref. IW328204 with blue dial and stainless steel bracelet

Ref. IW328205 with green dial and brown calfskin strap

Ref. IW328206 with green dial and stainless steel bracelet

All of them are equipped with the IWC-manufactured 32111 calibre, a 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) automatic movement with a bidirectional pawl winding system that builds up a power reserve of 120 hours. A soft-iron inner case protects the movement from the effects of magnetic fields. 

Engraved into the reverse side of the watch is a depiction of a 1930s Junkers Ju 52, the German trimotor transport aircraft whose cockpit instruments inspired the IWC designers when they created the Mark 11.

A practical feature of this model is IWC’s EasX-CHANGE quick-change system, which allows to change the strap or bracelet easily and without needing any additional tool.
