Louis Erard - Excellence Petite Seconde natural stones

Louis Erard launched 3 new versions of its Excellence Petite Seconde with dials in natural stones: aventurine, malachite, lapis lazuli. Price CHF2,500
Louis Erard is launching today three new versions of its Excellence Petite Seconde model, all of them featuring dials enhanced by the use of natural stones.

The Swiss brand chose the same materials and colours used for the Excellence Régulateur limited edition launched in 2021 (you can read about them here): the forest green of malachite, the morning blue of lapis lazuli and the midnight blue of aventurine.

The watches come in 39 mm x 12.25 mm cases crafted from polished stainless steel and characterised by the large fir-tree crown engraved with the symbol of the brand.

Protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the dials are pierced by a snailed silver-toned small seconds sub-dial and completed by applied numerals/indices and the unmistakeable fir tree hands.

The Excellence Petite Seconde Aventurine ref. 34238AA32 features dark blue aventurine, a material distinguished by its translucency and the presence of sparkling mineral inclusions that bring to mind a starry night. It takes its name from the Venetian "a ventura" meaning "by chance". In fact, it was accidentally discovered by a glass-blower in Murano.

The Excellence Petite Seconde Lapis-Lazuli ref. 34238AA35 is characterised by the bright azure colour of this metamorphic rock dotted with silicate inclusions.

The Excellence Petite Seconde Malachite ref. 34238AA39 has a vintage touch, enriched by a stone that was often used in luxury watchmaking in the 1960s. Its patterned coloration in shades of green makes this gem truly unique.

Visible through the transparent caseback, the automatic Sellita SW261-1 calibre beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour)and offers a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. The openworked oscillating weight is embellished by a black lacquered Louis Erard symbol.

Water resistant up to a pressure of 5 bars (50 metres / 165 feet), the watches are completed by grained calf leather straps (lug width 20 mm) in colours that nicely match the dials and well secured to the wrist by a polished stainless steel pin buckle.

Each of the three new Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde with natural stones will be produced in limited editions of just 99 pieces with a surprisingly good price of CHF 2,500. louiserard.com
