Together with the Portugieser Automatic that we presented here few days ago, IWC also unveiled the new Portugieser Chronograph reference IW371620 featuring a white and blue panda dial.

Framed by a 41 mm x 13 mm stainless steel case with a thin bezel that contributes to give the impression of a watch larger than it actually is, the dial of the Portugieser Chronograph is immediately recognisable for its applied Arabic numerals and slender Feuille hands that, in this version, stand out in blue against the white background.

Blue are also the small seconds subdial and the 30-minute chronograph counter positioned at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock, respectively. This sporty dial is protected by a convex sapphire glass with an antireflective coating on both sides. 

This model is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69355 calibre, a robust and precise self-winding chronograph movement in classic column-wheel design. Its quality finishes, with Côtes de Genève and perlage, can be appreciated through a sapphire-glass case back.

Beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and guaranteeing 46 hours of power reserve, the movement takes the energy it needs from a bidirectional pawl-winding system similar to the Pellaton mechanism.

Matched to a flexible blue rubber strap with pin buckle and water resistant to 30 metres / 100 feet, the IWC Portugieser Chronograph with Panda Dial ref. IW371620 has a price of Euro 9,200 / US$ 8,400. iwc.com
