Tudor presented the new Ranger, a tool watch housed in a 39 mm case and equipped with the self-winding Calibre MT5402 produced for the brand by Kenissi Manufacture SA, a highly regarded Swiss movement manufacturer.

The release celebrate the 70th anniversary of the British North Greenland Expedition. Equipped with the Oyster Prince model, Tudor’s first watch that was both automatic and waterproof, the members of this two-year scientific mission conducted in-depth glaciological and seismic surveys at several sites. 

Crafted from 316L stainless steel, case and bracelet of the Ranger are satin-brushed with only a few polished details, including the inner edge of the fixed bezel, to highlight the lines.

Protected by a domed sapphire crystal, the grained, matt black dial features hour markers and hands enhanced by a contrasting beige luminescent material that matches the tone of the Tudor shield logo and inscriptions. A touch of burgundy is used for the tip of the seconds hand.

The steel screw-down crown with the Tudor rose in relief contributes to guarantee water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet.

The self-winding Calibre MT5402 is certified as a chronometer by COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute) and features a bidirectional rotor system ensuring a power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), the balance wheel is equipped with a non-magnetic silicon spring. 

The new Tudor Ranger ref. 79950 has a suggested retail price of CHF 2,900 with its three-link steel bracelet with folding clasp or CHF 2,600 with either a hybrid rubber and leather strap with folding clasp or a green fabric strap with red and beige stripes and pin buckle. tudorwatch.com
