Bulgari - Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition

Bulgari presented the new Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition ref. 103702 is limited to 1,000 pieces with a price of €3,950.

With the new Aluminium GMT Amerigo Vespucci Special Edition, Bulgari paid homage to one of the world’s most beautiful training ship: the three-mast Amerigo Vespucci that flies the Italian flag on seas around the world.

Its 40 mm aluminium case is characterised by a fixed black rubber bezel with the Bvlgari Bvlgari engraving and the guards protecting the crown in DLC-coated titanium. 

Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, this light case is fitted with a distinctive articulated strap in black rubber with aluminium links and aluminium pin buckle.

Bearing Italian colours as well as the colours of the ship, the black dial offers a useful GMT function. The time in the second time zone can be read off with the help of the luminescent arrow-shaped hand that makes one full turn of the dial in 24 hours. 

Two contrasting 12-hour zones in black and yellow help distinguish between day and night, while echoing the Vespucci's gilded and deep black railings. The GMT hand is independently adjusted when the crown is pulled out to the second position. 

The yellow rhodium-plated hand displays the seconds. The date function is integrated at 3 o'clock. 

The Super-LumiNova coating used for the hour-markers and the hours, minutes and GMT hands     contribute to guarantee excellent readability even in darker environments.

The watch is powered by the Calibre BVL 192, a self-winding mechanical movement beating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a 50-hour power reserve.

The titanium caseback bears the signature "Nave Scuola Amerigo Vespucci" and its engraved motto “Non chi comincia ma quel che persevera” (Not who begins, but who perseveres), also engraved on the mahogany presentation box.
