The long-standing collaboration between Swiss brand Louis Erard and French designer Alain Silberstein continues in 2022 with the Le Diptyque Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein, two pieces characterised by the unmistakeable style of the French designer and white dials.

After the Tryptique with black dials presented last year (you can read about it here), two mechanical variations were chosen for this 2022 launch: a regulator, an original complication from Louis Erard, and a Smiley weekly calendar, Alain Silberstein's emblematic calendar  where every day has its face, its mood, its humour. 

The two references are produced in a limited series of 178 pieces and each of them is sold at the price of CHF 4,000. Fifty-six diptych box set including the two watches will be available at the price of CHF 7,777.

Both models are housed in microblasted grade 2 titanium frame fixed on a vertical sidebar called “brancard” in polished grade 5 titanium and flanked by a signature conical crown stamped with the Louis Erard symbol. 

40 mm in diameter and 11.60 mm thick, the watches are waterproof up to a pressure of 10 bars (100 metres / 330 feet). 

The first model - Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Blanc ref. 85358TT01.BTT83 -  shows the distinctive traits of Alain Silberstein: a large blue arrow hand for the minutes, a red triangle for the hours, and a small yellow serpentine hand for the seconds. 

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the self-winding regulator-type Sellita SW266-1 calibre is personalised with an openworked oscillating weight with black lacquered Louis Erard symbol. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers an autonomy of 38 hours. 

The second timepiece - La Semaine Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein Blanche ref. 75357TT01.BTT83 - indicates hours, minutes, seconds, date and "day". A funny detail, the days do not have names, but rather playful smileys – small, stylised faces symbolising different moods. From grey Monday to radiant Sunday (or vice versa), depending on the mood of the wearer.

La Semaine is powered by a customised automatic Sellita SW220-1 calibre running at 4Hz with an autonomy of 38 hours. 

The straps of the two models composing Le Diptyque Louis Erard x Alain Silberstein are made of special nylon and are equipped with a microblasted grade 2 titanium, hook-and-loop fastener system for quick adjustment as well as functional catch spring bars allowing the strap to be changed quickly. louiserard.com
