Hermès - Arceau Le temps voyageur

Launched at Watches and Wonders 2022, the Hermès Arceau Le temps voyageur has prices of €18,000 in steel and €23,000 in platinum

With its silhouette taking the form of a round case with stirrup-like asymmetrical lugs, the Arceau is definitely one of the most recognizable Hermès timepieces.

The latest interpretation of this iconic timepiece is the Arceau Le temps voyageur, recently presented on occasion of the Watches and Wonders 2022 exhibition (Geneva, March 30 - July 5).

This model is equipped with a “Travelling time” mechanism, developed exclusively for Hermès, that provides the indication of a second time zone in one of the cities associated to the 24 time zones. The satellite gravitates on a fantasy map, originally imagined by Jérôme Colliard for the “Planisphère d’un monde équestre” silk scarf.

The mobile counter and the home time indication at 12 o’clock are driven by a 122-component module, measuring just 4.4 mm thick, which is integrated within the Hermès H1837 calibre, a mechanical self-winding movement that beats at a frequency of 4 Hz ( 28,800 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 40 hours.

Finishes include circular-grained and snailed baseplate, satin-brushed bridges and oscillating weight and the signature “sprinkling of Hs” pattern.

Tow variations are available. The first comes in a 38 mm stainless steel case with a galvanised blue dial on which the white transferred Arabic numerals in the distinctive inclined font clearly stand out.

The second version features a larger 41 mm case crafted from platinum and enhanced by a matt black DLC-treated titanium bezel. The dial is executed in the tones of black and grey.

Both models are water resistant up to a pressure of 3 bar (approximately 30 metres / 100 feet).

Matched to blue or black leather straps made in Hermès Horloger’s own workshops using their long-established saddle-making and leather craftsmanship expertise, the new Hermès Arceau Le temps voyageur models have prices of Euro 18,000 in stainless steel and Euro 23,000 in platinum. hermes.com
