M.A.D.Editions released the M.A.D.1 RED watch. MAD1 Red has a price of CHF3,900. M.A.D. Editions was created by Maximilian Busser, founder of MB&F

Following the special edition that Maximilian Busser, the founder of independent watchmaking brand MB&F, created in 2021 to thank the people that contributed to the success of his brand (you can read about it here), there is a new release under the M.A.D. Editions brand, the M.A.D.1 RED watch.

The M.A.D.1 RED watch is built on the same platform as the original M.A.D.1 with the typical lateral time display, with two rotating cylinders for the hours and minutes. Crafted from stainless steel, the case measures 42 mm in diameter with a thickness of 18.8 mm and is water resistant up to a pressure of 3 ATM (approximately 30 metres / 100 feet).

The upside-down modified 3 Hz (21,600 vph) 821A Miyota movement is powered by the triple-blade winding rotor in titanium and tungsten and enhanced by Super-LumiNova. The autonomy is 60 hours. Compared to the first edition, this red edition features a slimmer bezel and a more classic, round winding crown.  

While the few hundred pieces of the first M.A.D.1 timepiece were created only for "The Friends" (the over 100 suppliers who help in the creation of the MB&F Machines) and "The Tribe" (the owners of MB&F machines), the new M.A.D.1 RED watch will be primarily reserved - without obligation, of course - to those who wrote in the last 10 months expressing interest in the timepiece. Within the next 10 days, they will be contacted to check whether they would like to place their order. The list is closed so there is no need to write now.

Once the priority orders will be confirmed, the remaining M.A.D.1 RED pieces will be allocated thanks to a lottery open to everyone. If you're interested in participating in this free of charge lottery, just visit their eShop site (the link is provided at the end of this article) to obtain a lottery ticket in the next two weeks. After two weeks, all valid entries will be entered into a random draw and the winners will be able to place their order.

The price of the M.A.D.1 RED is CHF 2,900 before sales tax. Deliveries of the M.A.D.1 REDs will start in April and continue throughout the rest of this year. Full information are available at shop.madgallery.ch
