In 2022 TAG Heuer is launching the Aquaracer Professional 200, 11 new models in 40mm and 30mm case sizes. Price of WBP2110 and WBP2111: €2500/$2650
On occasion of the LVMH Watch Week, TAG Heuer is introducing the new Aquaracer Professional 200, the sister model of the Aquaracer Professional 300 launched last year.
The new series includes eleven references at launch, all in stainless steel and in two sizes: 40 mm and 30 mm. Four of them are powered by automatic mechanical calibres, seven by quartz movements. Thanks to a screwed-down crown, water resistance is 200 metres / 660 feet for all variations.
Robust all-terrain sport watches at ease even in an elegant environment, the new Aquaracer Professional 200 are smaller than the Professional 300 models (40 mm vs 43 mm and 30 mm vs 36 mm) and equipped with the signature 12-facet unidirectional rotating bezel that still features a diving scale, but engraved into a steel insert, rather than into one in ceramic.
Another difference can be found in the bracelet, with the central link being polished rather than brushed. The folding clasp with double safety push-buttons comes with a comfort link with a 7 mm extension that can be adjusted using a push-down-and-pull release mechanism.
The 40 mm model is 11 mm thick, offering a sleeker silhouette and a slenderer profile compared to the outgoing model it replaces, which was 41 mm in diameter and 12 mm thick.
The dial maintains the typical engraved horizontal lines but here the hour markers are straight-edged, and trapezoidal instead of octagonal like in the Professional 300 and the sword-shaped hands are sleeker.
For dial legibility, the hour markers and hands are still coated with Super-LumiNova but no luminescent material has been applied to the bezel.
Powered by the 4 Hz Calibre 5 movement offering 38 hours of power reserve, the automatics are immediately recognisable by their fumé gradient dials, date windows, Super-LumiNova sweeping seconds hands, and more detailed minute tracks.
In the 30 mm range, there are two automatics with either a black or blue fumé diamond-dot dial. They are equipped with the 4 Hz Calibre 9 movement that guarantees an autonomy of 40 hours. The five quartz models offer galvanic dials in light silver, light blue or black sunray colour variations. Two diamond-dot and white mother-of-pearl dials are also available, one of the two with a diamond-set bezel.
