Released in 2021, the Aikon Master Grand Date by Maurice Lacroix introduced the new ML331 calibre, a newcomer in the collection of manufacture movements of the Swiss brand, as well as several new distinctive design elements.

The 45 mm stainless steel case sports dynamic lines, well highlighted by the alternating satin-brushed and polished surfaces. Characterised by its six polished arms, the bezel frames a grained dial that offers a clear view of the movement's balance wheel.

The Clous de Paris decoration adds refinement to the off-centered hours and minutes subdial, visually balanced at 8 o’clock by the large, rounded, skeletonised balance bridge that floats between the glass and sapphire crystal case back. Just above it, at 10 o’clock, Maurice Lacroix has placed a large date display with double window. 

The date module is integrated into the existing height of the calibre without needing an additional layer that would add thickness to the watch. The date window has the same shape as the bezel’s arms, a confirmation of the level of attention that the brand pays to details.

The small off-centre seconds hand at 4 o’clock is suspended above a well that reveals the ML331 calibre.

More elements of this self-winding manufacture movement, including the openworked, brushed and snailed rotor, are revealed through the sapphire crystal caseback. Beating at the frequency of 2.5 Hz (18,000 vibrations per hour), it offers about 50 hours of power reserve. 

Thanks to the EasyChange system, it is possible to switch from the stainless steel bracelet to the blue Cordura strap - both delivered with the watch - quickly and easily.
