Louis Erard is launching today the Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta, a timepiece whose dial colour takes inspiration from the warm, natural hues that can be found in the Franches-Montagnes trail, one of the most beautiful cross-country landscapes in Switzerland and home of Louis Erard watches.

For the first time the Excellence Petite Seconde model is also available in a 39 mm case size in addition to the traditional 42 mm. Each version will be produced in limited runs of 100 pieces per year.

Protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides, the monochrome dial emphasises design and finishes, with the fine grain of the matt terracotta centre contrasting with the circular satin-finished zone and the snailed seconds counter at 6 o'clock.

The signature fir tree hands are treated in anthracite grey and polished, just like the numerals and the indexes. The outer minute track section contributes to a more precise reading of the time.

The polished stainless steel case has a thickness of 12.25 mm and guarantees water-resistance up to a pressure of 5 bars (50 metres / 165 feet). 

It houses the self-winding Sellita SW261-1 calibre visible through a transparent sapphire crystal porthole. Beating at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour), it offers 38 hours of power reserve. The openworked oscillating weight of this élaboré grade movement is decorated with the Louis Erard symbol. 

The dark brown Baranil calf leather strap with polished stainless steel pin buckle is equipped with functional catch spring bars (lug width 22 mm) for easy exchange without needing any tool.
