Moser and The Armoury collborated to create the Endeavour Small Seconds Total Eclipse , a dress watch featuring a Vantablack dial. Price is €25,100

Inspired by the fascinating astronomical event, the new Endeavour Small Seconds Total Eclipse is the result of a collaboration between H. Moser & Cie. and The Armoury, a highly specialised menswear brand.

Available in two limited editions of 28 pieces, the new model is characterised by a dial coated in Vantablack, a deep, intense black that contrasts against the inner bezel - a halo that brings to mind the sun's corona in a total solar eclipse.

The first version, ref. 1327-1200, comes in stainless steel while the second one, ref. 1327-1201, adds the warm tones of 5N red gold to the steel, using the precious metal for the inner bezel, the three hands and the small marker dots. 

The hour and minute hands are finished with a circle at the tip in the Breguet style. The small seconds hand is adorned with a dot-style marker to better harmonise with the indices. 

Vantablack is an ultra-black coating considered the darkest substance of all, used in astrophysics in telescopes and by the army as thermal camouflage. Composed of vertically arranged carbon nanotubes, Vantablack is capable of absorbing 99.965% of light making this dial extremely dark.

The case - 38 mm in diameter and 9.9 mm high, sapphire crystal included - houses the smallest Moser movement in production, the hand-wound HMC 327 calibre beating at the frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz) and offering a power reserve of 3 days. This movement also features a power reserve indicator on the movement side, keeping the watch’s dial uncluttered.

The beautiful finishes and the slow beating of the Moser balance wheel equipped with an original Straumann hairspring can be appreciated through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback.

Matched to a black calf leather strap designed and created by The Armoury, the Endeavour Small Seconds Total Eclipse model will be available in The Armoury stores in New York and Hong Kong, as well as on the e-commerce platforms for The Armoury and H.
