Blancpain presented the new Fifty Fathoms Tourbillon 8 Jours, a watch that combines one of the most sophisticated horological feat with the high performances of a professional tool.

Available in two variations, one in titanium and the other in red gold, this model showcases its flying tourbillon through a large opening at 12 o'clock. Rather than being supported by a bridge on each side, the flying tourbillon is cantilevered, i.e. is only secured to the plate on one side thus offering an unobstructed view of the mechanism through the dial aperture.

The blue dial has a sunburst finish with applied hour-markers and large hands, all generously filled with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility in poor light conditions.

The 45 mm x 14.80 mm satin-finished case is equipped with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a notched edge and a slightly domed scratch-resistant sapphire insert. It guarantees water resistance up to 30 bar (300 metres / 1,000 feet).

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the self- winding Calibre 25C beats at the frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 vibrations per hour) with an outstanding power reserve of 192 hours or 8 days.

The satin-brushed gold oscillating weight is openworked to offer a better view of the finishes that include a Côtes de Genève motif and circular graining. 

The titanium timepiece can be matched to a blue NATO or sailcloth strap, as well as to a titanium bracelet; the red gold version comes with a blue NATO or sailcloth strap. For both models, the sailcloth strap can be equipped with a pin buckle or a folding clasp.
