Louis Erard has a tradition in collaborating with independent creators that add a twist to its iconic regulator timepieces.

After their recent projects with Vianney Alter, Alain Silberstein and atelier oï, the Swiss brand collaborated with seconde/seconde/, aka Romaric André, an independent Paris-based creator that is renowned for swapping watch hands with symbols taken from contemporary culture, the internet, the streets and video games adding meaning to the timepieces he put his hands on.

This way, he reminds us that watches are not only functional. They must tell the time, of course, but they are also markers of identity. 

For Le Régulateur Louis Erard x seconde/seconde/, the artist took a symbol of the internet, the dreaded “404 Error”, bringing it into the dial and reinterpreting the central minute hand.

At 3 o'clock the white "ERROR" transfer on a polished blue plate replaces "ERARD" composing the "404 ERROR" message when the minute strikes a quarter to the hour.

At that time, a large blue bar crosses the entire matt silver dial that features two snailed counters at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock indicating the hours and the running seconds, respectively. The two counters have blue "fir tree" hands and polished silver numerals and indexes.

The dial is protected by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides and framed by a 42 mm x 12.25 mm case made in polished stainless steel and water resistant up to a pressure of 5 bars (50 metres / 165 feet).

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal, the automatic Sellita SW266-1 calibre beats at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and guarantees 38 hours of power reserve. The openworked oscillating weight of this élaboré grade movement is decorated with the Louis Erard symbol.
